Marketing Lead and Game Designer on the University of Michigan WolverineSoft Studio Team

Who I Am

I am a Senior and Philosophy Major undergraduate student attending the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor with the hopes of pursuing an MBA and creating a game-oriented business as an entrepreneur.

What I Do

I've mainly worked on Narrative Design, Level Design, and UI/UX Design as a Game Designer with WolverineSoft Studio. I am also WolverineSoft Studio's 1st-ever Marketing Lead in studio history, responsible for creating a Marketing foundation and platform for the future of the studio, ultimately a legacy to give the studio the marketing workflows it needs to accomplish its mission and spread awareness of what we're doing for the long run.

Game Design Experience

Since January 2021 I've gained Game Design experience through WolverineSoft Studio on Caduceus (Winter 2021) and Project Tower (Fall 2021), working with a UM Programmer and my little brother on a 3D FPS game at the 48-hour WolverineSoft Pumpkin Game Jam (October 2021), working with 3 UC Berkeley students on a 2D Platformer game at the 45-hour GDDAT Berkeley Bear Jams Fall 2021 game jam (November 2021), and working with a UM Programmer, a UM Artist/Programmer and a UC Berkeley Programmer on the WolverineSoft Turkey Game Jam (November 2021).

What Being a Game Designer Aboard WolverineSoft Studio Involves

As a Game Designer, these are some principles to remember.

Confluence

To work as a team we utilize Confluence, an effective document-organizing software that enables easy group collaboration.

Limits

As an aspiring game-creator I refuse to lock my potential through internal doubts. Impact is a choice that ignores self-defeating voices of uncertainty.

Idea Optimization

In order to come up with the best ideas we gain advice from people in other departments for feedback to continuously revise iterations.

Discord

To communicate rapidly and effectively with one another we utilize Discord, having our ideas and suggestions organized in various servers.

File Organization

By using Git Pages, we are able to work as a team and keep track of project revision history.

Non-Profit Organization Project

WolverineSoft Studio is a non-profit organization, so the gems we create are to encourage others that you can make your games a reality.
